How to Apply for Texas Rising Star

The TRS application process begins online. An informative orientation video explains the process. We’re here to help you through the application steps:

Step 1: Orientation Video
Watch the TRS video online.

Step 2: Interest Form
Complete and submit the TRS interest form.

Step 3: Facility & Classroom Self-Assessments
Complete one Facility Self-Assessment for your facility and one Classroom Self-Assessment for EACH of your classrooms.

Step 4: Licensing Screening Form
Complete the Licensing Screening Form to determine current eligibility.

Step 5: Application
Complete the TRS Application and two TRS Document Checklists.

Step 6: Submit Application & Documents
Submit your completed Self-Assessments, Licensing Screening Form, TRS Application and Document Checklists to:

The Gulf Coast Workforce Board supports early education and care quality improvement through funding for Collaborative for Children to administer Texas Rising Star certifications in the 13-county Houston-Galveston region of Texas. Together with its operating affiliate Workforce Solutions, the Board is committed to enhancing and raising the quality of service to both the current and future workforce.
