Houston, We Have QualiFind!

With the launch of this comprehensive new child care locator, parents and caregivers throughout the Greater Houston Area now have an online tool to help them compare child care programs based on characteristics the user values most.

A consumer ranking system using star graphics makes it simple to determine whether a provider ranks excellent, good or minimal in six important arenas: compliance with licensing standards; teacher-to-child ratio and group sizes; accreditation; family involvement; teacher education and training; and teacher tenure. Developed by Collaborative for Children with support from the U.S. Department of Education, the web-based system is also available to parents who call in. The Child Care Resource and Referral department helps callers work through the web-based system and then mails information on as many as six referrals that match the client’s desired criteria.
