Valued Partners in Public Policy

With the help of our partners at the local, state and national level, Collaborative for Children will continue to advocate for quality early care and education, promote opportunities for education during legislative sessions, and advocate for policies that support the children and families in our community. We support a five-point legislative agenda for the 81st Texas Legislative Session. We invite you to review our 2009 Legislative Agenda

Children at Risk
A nonprofit organization that drives change for children through research, education and influencing public policy.

Houston Area Association for the Education of Young Children (HAAEYC)
The local chapter of NAEYC, dedicated to promoting and supporting high-quality care and education for young children through improved professional practice and broadened public awareness.

National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC)
Organization dedicated to improving the well-being of all young children, with particular focus on the quality of educational and developmental services for all children from birth through age eight.

National Association of Child Care Resource and Referral Agency (NACCRRA)
Promotes national policies and partnerships to advance the development and learning of all children and provides support to community Child Care Resource & Referral.

National Institute for Early Education Research (NIEER)
Supports early childhood education initiatives by providing objective information based on research.

One Voice Collaborative for Health and Human Services
A network of public, private and nonprofit organizations in the Greater Houston Area working together to ensure that the health and human service needs of all Texans are addressed in legislative, regulatory, funding and other public policy initiatives.

Texas Association of Child Care Resource and Referral Agency (TACCRRA)
The state chapter of NACCRRA which promotes the importance of quality systems to find child care and provides state data on child care resources and trends.

Texas Association for the Education of Young Children (TAEYC)
Providing professional development services to early childhood practitioners.

Texans Care for Children
Devoted to improving the lives of children in Texas.

Texas Early Childhood Education Coalition (TECEC)
The mission of the Texas Early Childhood Education Coalition is to build a system of quality early care and education that prepares children in Texas for success in their education and life.
