Investing in Our Shared Future

As a responsible corporate citizen, your business can do its part to help ensure that – through quality early care and education – our next generation makes a productive contribution to our society. Your investment may also produce significant, measurable returns in your own workplace.

Employees with young children are more productive at work and have greater peace of mind when they know their children are in safe, capable hands. Corporate studies show that improving the quality of child care reduces stress for employees, improves productivity rates for employers, and raises the standards of care in the community.

Consider the facts:

  • 65% of working mothers have children under age six.
  • 85% of employers say that providing child care services improved employee recruitment.
  • 24% of companies say productivity is lost while replacing employees who quit due to caregiver issues.
  • Child care breakdowns leading to employee absences cost businesses $3 billion per year.

Collaborative for Children currently offers three programs for businesses who wish to take part in our efforts. We can also tailor programs based on your company's specific objectives.

Corporate Leaders

Collaborative for Children Corporate Leaders program offers a wide range of financial, in-kind and volunteer assistance. The Corporate Leaders program helps increase public awareness; provides parents with valuable resources; develops professionals and programs in early care and education; and impacts policy development.

Corporate Sponsors

Our Corporate Sponsors program directly assists with funding for a variety of Collaborative for Children initiatives. Examples include sponsorship of our Annual Luncheon, online communications and public service advertising.

Corporate HANDS

Corporate HANDS (Houston Area Network for Dependent Services) combines the time and funds of leading Houston area companies to continually improve the quality and accessibility of care programs. Employees of companies nominate child care providers to receive training, educational scholarships and classroom resources. Since 1992, this program has helped dozens of child care programs in Houston attain national accreditation standards.
