It was a beautiful day at the Houston Zoo!

Collaborative for Children enjoyed a beautiful day at the Houston Zoo on Saturday, April 3rd. We distributed 1,100 zoo passports and 1,835 backpack/prizes to young children visiting the Children's Zoo.

Our staff welcomed the opportunity to talk with so many families and their children while enjoying their day at the zoo.

The critical messages that children learn through play, that children need to be loved and the importance of reading/talking/singing to children were shared with all who received a passport. The backpacks were a huge hit with the children and the families.

Many thanks to the volunteers who participated in the overall project, the packing of the bags, with staffing the event on Saturday and to the Houston Zoo for allowing us to participate at their fabulous zoo! It was definitely worth all the effort!
