Committed to Our Community

Knowledge fuels action, which is why Collaborative for Children is committed to educating the community about the critical early years of every child's life. By supporting vital community programs, participating in community events, leveraging the media and using interactive methods to spread our message, we work every day to help parents, educators and legislators understand the connection between quality early experiences and a child's chances for lifelong success or failure.

Collaborative for Children places a special emphasis on areas of Houston where, due to economic disadvantages, children may be at high-risk. In these neighborhoods, quality early care and education are especially vital to a child's future success.

As a member of the Texas Early Childhood Education Coalition (TECEC) and the local One Voice collaboration, we also work closely with our partners to advocate for state and local policies that raise the standards for early care and education in our community.
