Collaborative for Children was created by the merger of the Greater Houston Collaborative for Children (GHCC) and Initiatives for Children (IFC) in 2004, two organizations with more than 27 years of combined service to the community. The merger combined the administrative infrastructure of two organizations with different, but complementary programming, which continue to strengthen the quality of and expand access to the overall system of early care and education.
